Guinness Storehouse

Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness Storehouse, Dublin, Ireland

We took an Uber to the Guinness Storehouse.  There was a 20 minute wait to get in, but once inside you can move at your own pace.  We spent 2 hours there.  The Guinness Storehouse is neat because it explains how Guinness is made by using visuals throughout.

Your first stop will be in the entryway with a big group of people.  A staff member gives you information about the storehouse.  Then you will leave the group and start your way through the storehouse.

You will go up the hallway ramp and the first room you will enter is the water room.  Super cool!  There is a waterfall that changes colors and has words in it.  Tip:  Be ready to take photos!  The words disappear quickly.  Water is used as one of the ingredients in Guinness.

Then you will enter another room and see a field of barley.  It’s used as malted or roasted in Guinness.

After that, you go to the floor where they show you how the barley is roasted.  They also show you other ingredients used to make Guinness.

Next you will go through a big bar where there is Irish music playing and river dancing.  Very fun to watch!  There will be another room for photo opportunities, but you can take pictures anywhere throughout the storehouse.

The final floor puts you in the Gravity Bar where you can get a pint of Guinness.  Truly the best Guinness I’ve ever had! 😋  You will also get a panoramic view of Dublin.  Get your camera ready!  Tip:  It gets very crowded on the top floor and you might not be able to find a place to sit down.  You can take your pint of Guinness and go to another floor or restaurant to drink it!

After we got our pint of Guinness, we went to the 1837 Bar and Brasserie.  We enjoyed really good cheeseburgers and fries, plus an awesome view!  This should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Ireland!!
