Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane, Dublin Ireland
Samuel Beckett Bridge, Dublin Ireland

This is a perfect place to stay if you want to be in the center of Dublin.  It offers easy walking distance to many of the popular destinations.  If you don’t feel like walking, you’ll have short uber rides.

This hotel had friendly staff that were welcoming.  Our flight landed early in the morning, so we inquired about letting us check in earlier.  They did get us checked in 30 minutes earlier, which was nice!

Tip 💬:  When doing a long flight overnight, I would recommend that you get a hotel room for an extra night when you land in the morning.  Then you don’t have to wait all day to check in.  You will be able to go freshen up and take a nap right away.

This hotel offers a nice breakfast everyday.  It’s located on the other end of the main lobby.  It does cost extra if you want it, but it’s well worth it!  They have a large selection of food and pastries to choose from.  Eggs, hash browns, bacon, blood sausage, crescents, doughnuts, fruit, milk, juices, and coffee.  I was impressed.  There is also plenty of seating.

Basically, you check in as you walk into the restaurant.  They’ll ask for your room number to make sure you paid.  Then once you walk in, you will get your breakfast buffet style, then go sit down.  There’s staff that will bus the tables once you’re finished.  There’s a public restroom located in the main lobby just outside of the restaurant, if needed.

Be careful going out onto the balcony in your room.  Our room had scaffolding outside of it.  You could still walk out onto the balcony scaffold, but it’s unsafe.  We didn’t go out there, but if you have little children with you pay close attention to prevent accidents.  There was a note saying not to walk out there close to the handle, which I almost missed from being completely exhausted.

Our room was a little stuffy and hot.  There was no air conditioning.  They do keep a fan in the closet.  We unfortunately didn’t find it until we were leaving and checking out 🙃.

The rooms weren’t too noisy, but I could still hear people talking and walking in the hallways.  Really, it wasn’t that bad though, I’ve been in other hotels that were way worse.  At this hotel, I was still able to get a decent nights sleep.  The beds were comfortable too.  The shower pressure was good and the water temperature worked for what you’d want.  The rooms were cleaned to my liking and I’m very picky about that.  They have a swimming pool, but you will need to wear a cap.  All in all, it’s a good place to stay at!
